Hi I'm Thomas

I'm a student who loves to learn and serve. I come from Utah and love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Orem, UT and am the oldest of five children. I have loved living in Utah county because of it's closeness to the mountains and lakes. I also worked at a scout camp and loved it, helping boys learn outdoor and life skills. I am currently serving a mission for the Church in the Philippines. After my mission, however, I plan to attend college and major in Chemical Engineering. One day I hope to have a lovely wife and family, and be sealed in God's holy temple. My hobbies include scouting, hiking, camping, fishing, and photography. I love being outdoors and exploring new places and cultures and love to capture it through my camera. I hope to one day be able to see the world and meet with people from all walks of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church because of its values and the hope it gives. It focuses on families, the most basic unit of society, promoting them and helping them to become better. The church also helps keep me safe and healthy, free from tobacco, drugs, and other addictions that can destroy lives and families. These standards give me lasting happiness. I also love the hope it offers and its focus on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The fact that no matter how far we stray, no matter what we've done, that we can always come back and find happiness in Him, is incredible. Having this hope and knowing that I will one day live with my family forever, brings ultimate joy to my heart and a clear purpose in life. I know this Church is true. I know that Joseph Smith saw God, our Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, and that priesthood keys have been restored to this earth. I know that my Redeemer lives and that through Him, we can obtain everlasting happiness.

How I live my faith

I love to serve those around me, not only in large ways, but small as well. I try to be as friendly and patient with others as I can. In my neighborhood, our youth group and I help the local members. One example of this is a single sister who was unable to mow her lawn. We went every week to help her and it was an awesome experience to see how our service helped her in her struggles through life. I also try to be the best example I can at school and in my neighborhood by attending church religion classes, and being obedient, honest, and friendly. One of the biggest ways I live my faith is by my decision to go on a mission. I have left my home, what I've known all my life, for two years to bring others to Christ, so that others can experience the joy found in the Gospel and so they can live with their family forever.
