Hi I'm Spencer Mast

I grew up in Homedale Idaho. I'm the oldest of three boys. I'm serving a mission in Virginia. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love playing games and watching movies, as long as I'm with friends. I may have spent to much time on my own playing games in the past, before I reached out to join with others in having fun. I've never been very much of a popular person, but I do my best to love everyone. Sometimes, it can be difficult for me to reach out to others when I feel like I'm doing fine on my own. I sunk myself down into depression that I didn't even know I had. High School opened my eyes, to see that I can't do everything on my own. I started to open up to others and made many new friends, allowing me to improve myself daily.

Why I am a Mormon

In High School, I wasn't exactly living up to the standards of the church. I considered them outdated rules and thought of myself as an exception. This simply was not true. As I began to prepare for my mission I saw that my life was not where I wanted it to be. I read from the Book of Mormon and prepared myself emotionally and spiritually. I stopped going out late and started living more according to how I know God would want me to live. Now, as I serve my mission, I don't want to stop teaching people about this great and glorious message of hope. I know that this church is true, with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving in the Chesapeake Virginia mission. Every day I go out and try to share the glorious and happy message we have, with tons of people. In order to continue to teach, I follow the same standards and livings that I teach about. I have grown to love helping others no matter what. Whether they want us to share a message or not, it doesn't hurt to help someone out.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Spencer Mast
In order to attend the temple, a member of the church must be worthy according to the standards of God. They must have an interview with their Bishop and Stake President to make sure they are living up to these standards. The acts, or ordinances performed in temples are sacred, therefore, we do not make them publicly known or seen. Anyone is allowed to visit the visitor center of a temple and feel the peace and spirit inside. Before a temple is dedicated to God, an open house is usually held. This is a great time to go inside and see everything within, and to ask questions. Show more Show less
