Hi I'm Seth Robert Watts

I love to sing. I love to serve others.

About Me

I'm a baby brother to 5 older siblings. I love to sing. A LOT. I play guitar. I like to learn about everything. I'm interested in people. I like making people feel important, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into this church, that is not why I am "mormon". As a kid growing up I had few friends but felt pretty alone. It wouldn't be until later that I really knew how much I had. How alone I wasn't. Like anyone else I wanted to be accepted, and loved. I was blinded into thinking that I was so low and worthless and this would continue on for 3-5 year. One day my life took a turn for the worse and I got addicted. That just dragged me even lower than I already was. I was uncomfortable in my own skin. Often I would consider just ending my life, not taking any thought for the consequences. ANYTHING was better that this. I went on a church camp out, we went backpacking in the mountains. Towards the end of the week our leaders had us look for a good sized rock and hold it above our heads as long as possible. Didn't really make sense why but then eventually one by one we all dropped the weight. I held on as long as I could but I let it go. They told us that what we just experienced is the relief of confession and getting help to overcome our sins. I thought about that for months and then I went and got the help I needed. At times I still felt alone and worthless but then I would remember my friends who were all fighting this addiction with me, my friends who didn't know but I knew cared about me. I remembered my family, especially my mom. After having experienced that great change of heart, all I wanted to do for the rest of my life is help other people out of their own holes in life. Help people look to Jesus Christ and shake off those chains of Hell. The doctrine of Jesus Christ is first faith in him. Faith in His atonement. Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the gift of the holy ghost and enduring to the end. That is why I am mormon. Because I know that I want to follow Jesus and make the best choices I can, and that when I do slip up, I can repent."Learn of me,Listen to my words,Walk in the meekness of my spirit and ye shall have peace in me. I am Jesus Christ"

How I live my faith

I'm a missionary serving in the Iowa Des Moines mission. I share my faith everyday from the moment I wake up to the moment I lay down. I live my faith by studying the scriptures with vigor and trying to share with people what I learn to be true thru revelation from God. I live my faith by helping people be happy and learning with them what we can do better in life. I'm a strong believer that we were given agency by our Heavenly Father and if we use that gift of being able to choose what we do in this life for good and then better and then best, miracles happen. Lives change.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Seth Robert Watts
I think back to being in school and not having a lot of friends. I looked around and saw people but didn't know them. The reason: I didn't talk to them! So of course the only way we are going to know our Father in Heaven is to pray, listen to what he has to say by reading the true testimonies of others, and living God's commandments. If you do not know if God is there, reach out and pray, even if you can only have a desire to believe if he is there. But remember to pray from your heart. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Seth Robert Watts
The Atonement is Christ's suffering in the Garden, on the cross, and his resurrection from the dead. These events help us overcome the effects of sin and death. Everyone will be resurrected, it is a free gift from God. However, to overcome the effects of sin, we must repent. If we exercise Faith in Christ and Repent, are baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and endure to the end we will be able to use the atonement in our life to change us from the natural fallen man into glorious sons and daughters of god. Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Seth Robert Watts
Not very many people know about "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" but if you say "Mormon" more people will understand what you mean for the most part. People call us "Mormon" because of "The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ" but in reality Mormon was a prophet who lived a long time ago in the Americas. Show more Show less
