Hi I'm Joy

I am wife, mother, grandmother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Australia and have lived here all my life. I love my country. I have been married for 45 years to Geoff and have been blessed with 6 wonderful children and 15 precious grandchildren. I have been a stay at home mum for all the years my children were at home and now that my husband has retired we together enjoy sharing time with our grandchildren and help when needed. I love to sew and crochet, I especially like taking something old and giving it new life be it clothes or furniture -anything really. I love to be busy and enjoy helping my family and friends with any projects - cleaning, laundry, gardening, painting, sorting & organising, sewing - I just love a project.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Saviour Jesus Christ and I think I always have. I was taught well by my mum who although was not a member of my faith had a unshakable love for her saviour. I joined the church 40 years ago. The missionaries taught the lessons to us and I just knew the things they taught rang true to me. Over the years this small testimony has grown it has been the best thing I have ever done. Since that time my love for my Saviour has grown with each passing year. I am grateful that we are encouraged to read our scriptures and study the words and encouraged to listen, feel and hear the spirit as we do so. So grateful for a living prophet and apostles that encourage us to live our faith to follow Jesus and love our Father in Heaven and for the direction they give us in what could be such a confusing world. I love reading the scriptures and feel so blessed to know that I can go to my Saviour in personal prayer and listen and receive answers to my questions and concerns. To know I can have and anyone who desires can have a personal relationship with our Saviour. It is wonderful to know that He lives and He loves me and listens to me. This knowledge brings peace to my heart and a joy that cannot be found else where. Being a member of His church on earth has brought unnumbered blessings into my and my families lives.

How I live my faith

I love to serve and to help others. Over the years as a member of the church I have taught children, youth, young adults and women. I have helped to organise many service projects, youth and young Adult and womens conferences large and small in number, helped out in nursery's cooked and cleaned for the needy. I have helped in school canteen's and reading groups. I have always found joy and peace in doing such work and it has never seemed a burden as I know I am just doing what our Saviour has asked me to do and I have reaped the promise of as you loose yourself in service you actually find yourself.
