Hi I'm Audrey

I grew up in Utah. I love to play piano and organ. I have been called to the Germany Berlin mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Salt Lake City, Utah. I have played the piano since I was seven and the organ since I was fifteen. I love spending time with my friends and meeting new people. I have friends from all over the world and I love learning about their cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was already a part of this church. That gave me a good foundation when it came to building my own testimony later on. I remember one day specifically in a youth class at church where I thought, what if none of this is true? This was a really difficult thought for me, so I set out to find out for myself if it was true. At first I just leaned on other people's testimonies. I trusted them and believed that they knew what was right and wrong and true and untrue. Eventually I realized that when I lived by the teachings of the gospel I was happy. This taught me that the gospel was a good thing and that I would be on the right path if I followed its teachings. Another particular night that strengthened my testimony was one of the many nights I have spent reading the Book of Mormon. I had been reading for several weeks praying each night that eventually, in the Lord's time I could know that the Book of Mormon was true. As I prayed I got the impression that I've known it was true all along. God knew it, I knew it. I had a testimony then and I have a testimony now.

How I live my faith

In my ward I serve as a music leader in Sacrament meeting. I choose the songs we sing each week and then on Sundays I lead the music to keep the organ and congregation together. I believe that singing and playing music can be a way of bearing testimony especially when we are singing praises to God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. I also serve as a ward missionary. I go to appointments with the missionaries and bear my testimony there. This gives people who may be new to coming to church a familiar face when they come.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Audrey
A testimony is what you know or believe to be true. Each month we have a special testimony meeting where members of the congregation can stand up and bear their testimony. This is always such a powerful meeting. I believe that testimony can be born in different ways. A testimony can be shared by saying it, through song, especially song praising God, and a person's testimony shines through in the ways that they act. Show more Show less
