Hi I'm Chris

I lived in Layton UT for 15 years, then moved to Franklin ID. I went to an early college highschool called NUAMES. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I live in a farming area and mostly work, but I enjoy airsofting, robotics, and drawing. I use a digital pad to draw and post most of my submissions on Deviantart. (123girrr.deviantart.com) I am also planning on working on a comic in the near future.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, but that doesn't make someone a Mormon. I know several people that have fallen away from the Church BECAUSE they were born into it. The reason I am a Mormon is because I gained a testimony of the Gosple, and I know of its truth. I hope others can find that truth as well.

How I live my faith

While I draw, I like to listen to hymns and other music that uplifts the spirit. It helps me concentrate and reminds me who gave this wonderful talent to me. At Church I don't have any callings currently, but I have been in several leadership positions previously, mostly helping plan activities for scouting and the churches weekly activities for the youth. I hope that I will get a calling soon, and that I can serve to the full potential that the calling has in store for me.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Chris
The Church states most of its beliefs in what we call "The Articals of Faith." I believe that this is a common question, because of how it is worded in our Articals of Faith. "We believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. We also believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly." This can cause some confusion. As you may know, many of the old churches got together and decided how they wanted the Bible to be, and as such we can no longer be 100% certain of its teachings. However there are many great truths taught in the Bible! It is a divine record of Christ's ministry in the Eurasia area, and is gives us great knowledge that he died for us and loves us. We just need to discern truth in the way that God has encoureged: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally..." Show more Show less
