Hi I'm Megan

I'm a floater, a college student, a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Virginia, Idaho, Oregon, Florida, and Michigan. I'm a student at Brigham Young University. I'm an English major who studies Chinese and Thai. I love food, books, music, and photography. I'm serving in the Thailand Bangkok LDS Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church and didn't always have a strong testimony of it. That is, I didn't naturally have a testimony until I decided to look for one. At a difficult time in my life, changing states and schools, I undertook the process best explained by one of our leaders, Dieter F. Uchtdorf: "If you cannot say you know God is there, you can Hope that He is. You can desire to belief. That is enough to start." I'm a Mormon because I believe in the power of hope. When I actually stopped to think about truth, what it is and is not, I was guided to an answer. I was guided by the love I feel from my Heavenly Father and my savior, Jesus Christ, and for me, that answer is the gospel, which provides greater happiness than anything else ever could. The truth isn't easy, finding the truth isn't easy, and sometimes even the decision to look for truth isn't easy, but it is happiness, and that's infinitely better.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by paying it forward. The greatest gifts in this world, including the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, can be attributed to all-encompassing love, manifested as charity. Because I want the lives of others to be similarly touched by the comforting, empowering knowledge of our divine identity as spirit children of our Heavenly Father, I have chosen to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I work to introduce the people of Thailand to the basic tenets of Christianity, the Book of Mormon, and this Christ's restored church. My hope is that I can share and teach at least some part of my beloved gospel, a gospel of infinite points of light.
