Hi I'm Jason

I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I was truly converted when I served in the United States Navy.

About Me

I am a father of 5 and have traveled all around the United States and the World. For work I commission power plants for a clean energy company based out of Houston. I love to do anything in the outdoors including fishing, camping, hiking and canoeing. It is wonderful to see the world the Lord created and know that he loves me.

Why I am a Mormon

So when I was 12 years old my family moved from our home in Grafton, Wisconsin to Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin. A couple evenings after unpacking a couple of young men in white shirts and ties wearing name tags knocked on our door. I was surprised when my mom let them in and even more surprised when they said they were coming back to see us again. After several weeks of discussions my parents chose to join the Church. My Father invited us to meet with the missionaries and learn the discussions to decide if we wanted to joint he church as well. I tried to ask all the toughest questions a 12 year old could think of but was unable to stump them. I learned to really like them and I saw the good things happening in our family and chose to join the church. However, when I was 16 years old I really began to question everything and was unable to get what I thought was confirmation that there really was a God or Jesus Christ. To get an answer the Lord asks us to read his words, study them out in our minds and then ask in really intent if they are true and he will bear witness of them. It wasn't until after I enlisted in the United States Navy that I really began to earnestly strive to know. I read every day even when it was very difficult, and trust me a drill instructor can make life difficult. But as I read for the first time I started to comprehend the Lord's words and feel the positive effects of trying to be like my Savior. Following several months of study one evening I chose to stay in for an evening and read more in the Book of Mormon. As I read that evening I studied a scripture in the Book of Mormon about the Prophet Abinadi as he testified of Jesus Christ before a king. As I read his words about Christ I felt a strong burning in my heart and I knew that what he was teaching was truth. Since that day I have been fully converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me.

How I live my faith

I have found that the best way to live my faith is in serving those around me. The Lord has provided me many wonderful opportunities to serve as I have been in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been able to teach and share with others the precious truths that I have learned from striving to live the Gospel. It is during these times that I have felt the closest to my Father in Heaven. It is awesome to feel his hand in my life and feel him working to help us all return to live with him again. In my family and in service to others I have found that putting my trust in god and then doing all I can do while striving to listen to his promptings has brought the greatest joy into my life. From time to time we all struggle with challenges and issues but God loves us all the time and his arm is always stretched out to us. If we but turn to him and cry out he will be there to love and help us in our efforts to return to him. Some of the most important and tender moments in my life have come through my study of the Lord's word through the scriptures. I find that when I study and ponder the Lord's words that the answers I seek are brought to my attention and I can feel his influence through the rest of my day. It is awesome to have the Lord in my life!
