Hi I'm Jackson

I grew up in Utah. I love to draw. My family and I are all active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I am an avid artist, my passion is to draw and paint. My art tools of choice are pencil, ink, watercolor, colored pencil, oil paint, and digital art programs. I am a pianist. I feel profound satisfaction when I play Hymns and songs from my favorite films, television shows, and music groups. My favorite sport is golf. I have a passion for trains. I greatly enjoy reading comic books, particularly Marvel comics. One of my favorite genres of book and film is science fiction, though I am also partial to fantasy (my favorite film series is Star Wars which takes elements from both). I am fascinated with history and yearn to learn all that I can about people who came before me. I also enjoy learning about science, which tells us how the universe works. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, and learning about its history, doctrines, and minute details. I love my family, and I know that through obedience to the Gospel of Jesus Christ we can be together for all time and eternity. Most importantly, I am a Mormon, and I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that he lives, and through him I can overcome anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in what the Church teaches. I was born and raised in the Church, but my belief in the Church did not come until I was in my early teenage years. In those years I really started to read the Book of Mormon, the Holy Bible, Pearl of Great Price, and Doctrine and Covenants, for my self. I had to know whether or not they were true. As I read through those works and prayed, I came to know that they were the works of God, and I could not deny their truth. I have felt the presence and love of my Father in Heaven I know that he lives and is conscious of me and my needs. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that his atonement is real, and available to all. I know that the Holy Ghost is the messenger and the third member of the Godhead and he will testify of all truth. I know that the family is a divinely instituted unit, and should be protected. I know that the prophets are God's mouthpiece to his people, and I sustain them with my whole heart. Finally, I know that the Prophet Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God, and he has done more for humanity than anyone save Christ Himself.

How I live my faith

I have served as leader of several youth groups, and in that role I have often helped organize activities for the youth. I have also been a home teacher for several years, and as such I often would share gospel teachings with church members. Also as both a home teacher and leader I have had the opportunity and blessing to participate in several service projects. I also chose to serve 2-year mission to teach the glad Gospel of the Lord, and serve his children.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mormons help all people. Indeed, we believe in following the example set forth by our Savior Jesus Christ. Our Savior did not just visit those of his day who believed in him, he administered to all people regardless of race, health, social status, religion, and righteousness. If we profess to be true members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormons, then we should help all people regardless of their belief. Show more Show less
