Hi I'm Landon

I was born in Texas and have lived here my whole life. I will soon be serving a mission in Bolivia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Landon. I was born and raised in Texas, and I love it here. I enjoy playing sports, especially soccer. I have played soccer my entire life; it is my favorite hobby. My other hobbies include fishing, reading, exercising, and playing other sports. I am planning to attend college at BYU Provo, but I will be serving a two year mission in Bolivia first.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon. Both my parents and all of my extended family are members. I love being a member of this church and being able to receive the teachings of a true prophet of God. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that this is the same church that Christ himself created when he was on the earth. I know that this church is true, and I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to have my faith be evident in my life. I avoid alcohol, drugs, and coffee and tea. I avoid doing things on Sunday that are not absolutely necessary. I go to church, and I attend a missionary prep class to help me get ready to serve a mission. I also attend youth activities every Wednesday, which is a great way to interact with my friends.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Yes, the Bible is the word of God and contains the true teachings of the ancient prophets and Jesus Christ. However, since it was first written, the Bible has been revised and changed many times, so some versions contain inaccuracies. Our church believes that the King James version of the Bible is the most correct, so it is the one we use. We also believe that the Book of Mormon, like the Bible, is a true testament of Jesus Christ. Both the Book of Mormon and the Bible confirm and support each other. Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Our Church is the same church that Jesus Christ established on the earth during his life. After Christ died, his church became corrupted and split into the many Christian churches we see today. Although these churches have good intentions and are attended by many good people, they do not have the full truth of Christ's gospel. The full gospel was restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith in the early 1800's after he was visited by God and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is our literal father in Heaven. He loves us very much and wants us to be able to return and live with him again after we die. This is why he sent his son Jesus Christ to save us. God has a body of flesh and bone, and we are made in his image. Show more Show less
