Hi I'm Kaylynn

I love music, camping, hiking, and anything regarding outdoors. I love to serve others and to see a simple smile. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fifth out of six children in my family. I have 4 older brothers and one younger sister. My sister is my best friend even though you may not see our strong relationship at first. I grew up in Chandler Arizona with a love for getting dirty. I raised pigs for our County Fair for 9 years and often found myself with the neighborhood kids my age playing outside in the fields or running the cattle chute at roping arenas. Our family vacations rarely consisted of a beach and more commonly included mountains and tents. I grew a love for American Sign Language in High School but currently I am doing my best to learn Italian. I am almost halfway through Nursing School but have decided to put my education on hold for 18 months to serve an LDS mission in Milan Italy. I have worked as a CNA for a few short months and plan to continue my education and career after the conclusion of my mission service.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but found myself asking if I really believed the message at the age of 15. I found that there is no better way to find the truth than to go straight to the source. I read the Book of Mormon and studied the messages within it alongside with the messages of the Bible and prayed to God with real intent asking if it was really true. My answer from God came slowly but surely through my diligence in seeking out the answer. My mother, who is a convert to the church, and my father, who spent many years of his life as an inactive member of the church, have helped strengthen my testimony though the sharing of their own testimonies through their Christ-like actions. I now know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints truly testifies and teaches of our brother and Savior Jesus Christ. By keeping His commandments and trying to live like Him, I know we can find peace, happiness, and safety in our lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live like Him, Jesus Christ. This often means simple small actions that can make a huge impact on those around us. For example, I have often tried to offer a simple smile to those I pass by on the streets or have tried my best to say please and thank you. Being patient and kind to those around us and being quick to forgive can make life more enjoyable even when it may seem impossible to heal from a wrongdoing. Serving others with no intention of receiving in return is the life Christ lived and a life that we too can live. By trying to learn more about Jesus Christ and His life teachings every day, I have found myself growing closer to Him and my Father in Heaven. Acting upon the things I learn also allows me to feel closer to Christ and brings a joy like no other to my life. Truly I have learned that living a life like Christ is a worthwhile blessing and not a hassle.
