Hi I'm Gabriel

I'm from Washington state. I study at BYU. Serving a mission in Indiana. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a split family. My dad and my mom split when I was about 5 or 6. I see them both regularly and they both have their own families. I currently have five siblings, one of whom is married. I'm the second oldest. Half of my family (my dad's side of the family) are members of the church. I am currently a student at BYU-Provo. I'm unsure about my major. I'm currently studying three languages: French, Dutch, and Swedish. I'm heavily involved in several clubs and programs at BYU. I am really into film. I love dramas and comedies: some of my favorite films are Casablanca, The Tree of Life, and Wall-E. Writing about film is a hobby of mine, as well as watching analysis of films. I've played percussion since I was about 13 years old. I played in my high school's marching band, concert band, and jazz choir. Music is something that is near and dear to me, and I love a wide arrange of genres. Some of my favorite artists include Taylor Swift, CHVRCHES, Carly Rae Jepsen, Vampire Weekend, Kendrick Lamar, and Kacey Musgraves. I'm also really big into sports. I love ice hockey, and am a pretty big fan of football, basketball, and baseball. I'm a huge Anaheim Ducks fan, and also cheer for the New England Patriots, Indiana Pacers, and Toronto Blue Jays.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Christ, and I know that only through this Church and this Gospel can we find true and eternal happiness. I was introduced to the church through my step-mom. She has been a member of the church her whole life, and when she married my dad in 2003, we started going to church with her. I began going to church on a regular basis when I was about 13 or 14. Around this time, I really wanted to become a member of the church and be baptized. However, my biological mother was not entirely comfortable at the time, so I waited. I continued to go to church and meet with missionaries. When I turned 18, I made the decision to be baptized. I was baptized on February 14, 2015, one day after I turned 18. I know that through this church and through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I can be truly happy. I can receive true joy and countless blessings by following my brother Jesus Christ. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am serving as a missionary in Indiana. I've chosen to devote two years of my life to spreading the Gospel and strengthening the Church. I spend each and everyday trying to bring others closer to Christ.
