Hi I'm Elder Barton

I was born and raised around Utah. I am about to serve a mission in the New York New York South mission.

About Me

I'm a 22-year-old male nerd. I love reading and writing (mostly fantasy). I enjoy playing video games, card games, and board games. I love to cook and especially bake. My favorite sport is probably ultimate frisbee because I can just play with my friends and have fun. I also enjoy swimming. I've worked many different jobs, but my favorite, and most recent, was working with troubled teenage boys at a group home. I'm just about to serve a mission for the church and am hoping to go to school upon returning and hopefully get a position involving human resources somewhere.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have learned and know, for myself, that this is God's true church. I was born into a family that was LDS, and I grew up learning about it, but that is far from the reason I belong to it today. While I have a wonderful family, I was something of a rebellious son, and if it weren't for my experiences and my conversion, I do not know where I would be today. While there certainly have been moments where my faith has been tested and consequently strengthened, my conversion was, is, and will continue to be an ongoing process. Suffice it to say that through a large amount of scripture study, prayer, and fasting, God revealed to me the truth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It has been one of the greatest blessings I have ever recieved. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm leaving shortly to serve a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint.
