Hi I'm Nathan

I am from the Bay Area. I attend Utah State University and I'm currently serving in the Texas Houston East Mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know how much joy the restored gospel of Jesus Christ can bring people. I find lasting peace and happiness from the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me and knows me personally. I can find comfort in Jesus Christ's Atonement because I can repent of my sins and be free of guilt. Because of the Atonement, I know that Jesus has suffered everything I have or ever will suffer, and I can be comforted because of that. I also find comfort through prayer and communicating with my Heavenly Father. I have at testimony of the Book of Mormon and I know that it is the word of God. The council and guidance I have received from this church has helped me avoid so much pain and heartache I would have otherwise endured. I know that by keeping the commandments, I can be closer to God and be happy. I am so grateful for all of the blessings I have seen in my life because of this gospel, and I encourage all who may not be members to find out for themselves the happiness that comes from living the gospel.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith by fulfilling my callings. At Utah State, we have a program called institute, which is where we can worship and learn more about the gospel. Institute is optional, so my calling is to encourage others to attend institute. I remind all of my friends and people I meet about the various blessings of institute and what kind of effect institute can have on their lives. I also "home teach". This is visiting different people in my ward to share a spiritual thought and ask if there is anything I can do for them. The most important thing I can do is let them know that I am their friend and that I am willing to help them with any difficulties they may have.

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Nathan
The Lord chooses the prophet. I love that the prophet is called by the Lord and not by men. It is so comforting to me to know that our modern day prophet truly has the power and authority to act in the name of God on the Earth. Show more Show less
