Hi I'm Gabriel Hellebrand

I've lived on both sides of the American coast currently I'm serving an LDS mission in Salt Lake and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love films with a passion and while I've always loved films it wasn't until I was about twelve when I moved to Hesperia, California where I developed an interest in film-making and writing. Before my mission I was working on a Science Fiction trilogy as well as some side projects. My favorite film of all time is 2001: A Space Odyssey because it made me see film and the stories in film in a whole new light. Stanley Kubrick's also one of my favorite filmmakers of all time. I have many films that I really enjoy such as the Star Wars series and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy as well as The Prestige, 12 Angry Men, Inception and Lawrence of Arabia. I also like reading, some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series and the Pendragon series as well as anything by Isaac Asimov or H.G. Wells. If I don't make it into Hollywood I'll try my hand at Cybersecurity or something with computers. Currently I'm serving in the Church and Family History Headquarters mission in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

To put it simply it's the only religion that answers questions that people have looked for for centuries such as "what is the meaning of life." I also loved the friendships that I had with different people in the church and I realized the church was true at an early age when I read the Book of Mormon back when the prophet gave us the challenge to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year.

How I live my faith

So I'm currently a missionary I've wanted to serve a mission for my whole life. The ward that I went to before my mission was structured so that there would be six missionaries a year for the next five years. I had previously served a two week mission and I enjoyed the experience immensely my companions were nice and people were pretty nice to us. I put my papers in along with the older half of my priest quorum and I waited for the call. I'm one of the few missionaries who got an option get called to either the Family and Church History Headquarters mission or spend two transfers in Bakersfield before getting sent somewhere else. The stake president and Bishop gave me the two options and I felt that I belonged in the Family and Church History Headquarters mission and it's been an enjoyable experience.
