Hi I'm Mauri Munsee

Hi my name is Mauri. I grew up in Utah. I moved to Tennessee when I about 10. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I had a really good childhood and was able to be raised in the church. When I was 10 we moved to Tennessee, and there I was able to have many cool experiences. It was very different from Utah. Tennessee belonged in what we called the "Bible Belt". There were all kinds of different churches everywhere, and it was neat to learn about the different faiths. The people in the South are passionate about Jesus, and I loved that. In Tennessee I developed many talents. I was able to take voice lessons from an amazing opera singer. I got involved in sports and leadership clubs. Right now I'm doing Pathway, which is a fantastic online course through BYU-Idaho. In May I will be serving a mission in Taiwan. When I get home I hope to continue my education at BYU-Idaho or wherever the Lord directs me. I enjoy reading, going to the movies, and exercising.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I often relied on the testimonies of others or my parents, but there came a time in my life where I had to get my own testimony and decide whether the church was true or not. I believed the church had amazing youth programs and made me a better person. I believed the church surrounded me with good people. But it wasn't until I read the Book of Mormon all the way through and prayed to know if it was true that I got an answer. I knew that Joseph Smith saw God and restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because this church is true, and can offer you truth and ordinances that no other church can.

How I live my faith

Everyday I focus on becoming the kind of person God wants me to be. I strive to develop Christ-like qualities. Everyday I spend time praying and reading my scriptures. I go to church every Sunday and partake of the Sacrament. I used to be a Sunday school teacher, and when I had that calling I prepared lessons each week so that I would be able to teach those sweet children about Jesus and how much he loved them.
