Hi I'm Sister Maddie Westbroek

I grew up in Ogden Utah. I have been called to Serve in the Manaus, Brazil Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the LDS Church. I am the oldest in a family of six, I grew up playing a lot of soccer and being very active. I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and running. When I return home from my mission I plan to attend college and begin a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I love this gospel, I love my savior and I love this church and its teachings. I am a mormon because the teachings of this church have made me who I am today and kept me out of trouble in my youth. I am a mormon because I have the desire to live with my family and my Savior for all eternity. This Gospel has brought me more peace and happiness than anything else in my life. Through this Gospel I have the knowledge of where I came from, Where I am going and Why I am here. Without this Gospel my life would not be the way it is now and I would not be the person that I am. Through this gospel I have learned how I want to raise my children and how I want to live. Through this Gospel I have learned how to truly love people and how to truly feel the Love that Christ has for us.

How I live my faith

As I have prepared to become a missionary I have begun to understand what it really means to live and breath this faith. I have spent a lot of time mentally and physically preparing myself to serve the people of Brazil. I am so grateful for my past callings and outside of church activities that have prepared me to serve the Lord for 18 months.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Sister Maddie Westbroek
Our Purpose as Missionaries is to invite others to come unto Christ. We have a strong desire to bring others the happiness and knowledge that we have of the Restored Gospel. We believe that This Gospel is for everyone and that everyone deserves a chance to learn about their Savior Jesus Christ. We have felt such great happiness in this work and in this Gospel that we have such a strong desire to share it with others. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Sister Maddie Westbroek
A testimony is the things that we believe or know to be true. A testimony is a personal belief that is between you and your Savior and our Heavenly Father. Sharing our testimonies can often help others strengthen their testimonies in this Gospel. No member of the church has the same testimony, testimonies are all unique and bring with them a strong spirit. Your testimony can be simple, it can be grand, our Father in Heaven loves each of us no matter the size or strength of our testimonies. Show more Show less
