Hi I'm Ethan

I grew up in the beautiful South. I love drawing, history, literature, and being creative. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

All my life I have loved to tell stories, whether through writing, drawing pictures, or making short movies. I've always been pretty quiet and agreeable and enjoy listening to others share what's on their mind. I love reading, especially mystery and adventure stories. But most of all, I love to serve and see the difference I can make in others' lives by doing my part. After my mission, I will be attending the University of Utah to study animation.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church all of my life. From as far back as I remember, my parents sung me hymns, taught me Book of Mormon and Bible stories, and taught me to be a loving servant of our Heavenly Father. When I was in middle school, I began to think more seriously about what I actually believed and wanted to dedicate my life to. I listened to well-thought-out arguments against the church's teachings that were presented by friends, acquaintances, and important people all over. I prayed, studied, and asked questions to my parents and church leaders. Through seminary, Sunday school, and personal study and prayer, I found for myself that the gospel makes too much sense, even in worldly terms, to not be true. When one takes the time to study how Joseph Smith and the early saints were able to reestablish the church, he or she will have a hard time ignoring the numerous miracles and blessings that went into the work. I am a Mormon because I know that the Lord's plan is true. I know that Jesus Christ is the living son of God and went through with the incredible sacrifice of the Atonement to make it possible for all of us on earth to return to His glorious kingdom one day. I know that our prophet and general authorities receive real revelation for our church today and act as mouthpieces for the Lord to convey the messages, guidance, and instructions he would have us hear. I know that He and his teachings are true, without a shadow of a doubt. I hope that in time, all the world will come to accept this truth.

How I live my faith

I will be serving as a two-year missionary in Santa Rosa, California starting this July. I am currently a ward missionary and help the sister missionaries in our ward teach investigators and other people about Heavenly Father's plan of happiness and how to live to receive His blessings. This has been great preparation for my real mission in a few months, as it has given me a great opportunity to practice teaching, studying, and bearing my testimony of the gospel. I also serve on my Stake Youth Committee.
