Hi I'm Lauren Hatch

I love true friends, sunsets, music, theater, sweaters, warm fires, books, and mountains. I'm a lover of life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Utah my whole life. I come from a very musical family, beginning with my grandfather's deep love of the art. I love to sing and play the piano, and in high school discovered that I enjoy acting, particularly in musicals. I enjoy being around people: having meaningful conversations, learning from them and loving them. I don't like to sit still! I love being surrounded by the mountains, and having them so easily accessible to hike and explore. I enjoy reading, especially the classics because they teach me so much. I am currently an undergraduate student at BYU, because I love to learn. I am so grateful that learning and loving and adventuring are lifelong pursuits.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the pure joy that the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me. This joy comes from knowing that I have a Heavenly Father and a Savior who love me unconditionally, exhibited in the people They allow me to come in contact with, to the beauty and potential in the sunrise each morning. This joy comes from knowing that I can be together with my family, who just happen to be my very best friends, for eternity because of the atoning sacrifice and resurrection of the Savior. This joy comes from the reassuring feelings from the Spirit testifying to me that this is the true church of Jesus Christ restored by the prophet Joseph Smith on the earth today, lead by a true and living prophet who receives revelation from our Heavenly Father for me and all of God's children. This happiness and joy cannot be found anywhere else, and it motivates me every day. Right now, today, I am the happiest I have ever been. And I know that as I continue to live the gospel, the experiences and trials and tears and laughter that are all a part of life will only bring more happiness. After all, that is our Heavenly Father's whole purpose for us: "men are that they might have joy" (2 Nephi 2:27).

How I live my faith

I try my very best to live my faith in every aspect of my life. My goal each day is to become more and more like my Savior, Jesus Christ, because He is the ultimate example and my mentor and friend. I am currently serving as a Gospel Doctrine teacher in my student ward, team-teaching every other week with one of my very dear friends. I love the calling because in preparing the lessons my testimony and spiritual knowledge skyrocket! I also am a visiting teacher, which has created bonds and friendships with girls in my ward that have blessed my life tremendously within the short time that I've had the call. In addition, I am currently preparing to serve a full-time proselyting mission in Argentina. I am so excited for the opportunity to serve!
