Hi I'm Marcela Shipley

I am from Utah but am now living in Arkansas. I can't decided if I want to be a Vet or a Marine Biologist. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am serving in the Colorado, Colorado Springs Mission and I am so happy to be serving the Lord. I love to read and the Book Of Mormon and the Bible have become two of my favorite books. I love art and wish to increase my talents in that area. I have always loved animals and nature so I am hoping to get a degree that involve those. I love my family with all my heart and am so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon and so proud to be serving my Father in Heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member my whole life I had to figure out the truth eventually. Growing up in the church has been wonderful. It is such a loving and kind community. People wonder how I know it is the true church because I have just been living this way my whole life. Well let me tell you. I had spent my young years living off of my parents testimony. Seeing them go to church every Sunday and partake of the Sacrament, having family home evening, and reading the scriptures, it has just always been apart of my life. My 'conversion' story was not like walking into a wall. It happened rather gradually. I wanted to know for myself. I didn't want to spend a year and a half preaching this Gospel if I didn't believe it myself. But I wanted to know. This church already made me so happy but I wanted to know if that was because I was raised here, or because I felt Christs love testifying of the truth. I prayed every night to know the truth. I didn't realize I had been answered until someone asked me how I knew the church was true. They asked me and words just started spilling out of my mouth. I knew because when I read my scriptures, I felt peace. When I went to church, I was happy. When I prayed at night, I was comforted. When I wondered if what I was feeling was the Holy Ghost testifying to me I was told that good comes from Christ. If I am feeling happy, peaceful, and comfortable when I read the Book of Mormon or go to Church, I am being told that what I am doing is good. This church is good. The Prophet and Apostles are good. In all I am good. Because of the restored Gospel, I can know the fullness of His plan. I can return to live with Him someday.

How I live my faith

I am currently a Missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am serving in Colorado, Colorado Springs and I am loving it. Sharing the Gospel is something that I have come to love. I love the love and comfort it has put in my life and I simply want others to feel the happiness and love I have felt. As Missionaries we are not trying to see how many people we can add to our church. We are inviting others to come unto Christ and be apart of His church. We invite others so that they may feel the love and blessings of returning to His fold. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I am so grateful for this opportunity so serve Him in this way.
