Hi I'm Andre Contreras

I grew up in Mexico City, Mexico. I moved to Canada when I was 3 years old and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been preparing to leave on a mission and I was called to serve in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission. I love to work hard, learn new and interesting things, play sports and activities and love photography. After my mission, I plan to enroll in BYU University to study business.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have never known anything more fulfilling and true in my life. I have never been so happy and cannot explain the happiness and joy I feel serving the Lord and following his gospel. I have been a member of the church since birth, my whole life but I my true conversion began when I decided to serve a mission. I prayed with much faith seeking and wanting to know if giving up two years of my life was really worth it. I received my answer through the power of the Holy Ghost that it truly was. As a missionary I will be teaching others what I know to be true and proclaim the plan of our loving father in heaven for His children, the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you were to find a new medicine or a new remedy or anything that makes you happy or helps you in some way, wouldn't you want to share that with your family and friends and other people? That is how I feel about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I want to share that happiness and joy I feel from following the Lord and his Gospel. I know God lives and His son lives.

How I live my faith

In my church I participate in many youth activities and a mission prep class. In my mission prep class I was assigned to be president of the class. I am in charge of making sure important events within the class are accomplished and to help teach the rest of the participants.
