Hi I'm Elaine Mitchell

I am a daughter. wife, mother, and teacher, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in many places in the United States and Canada and my husband is a geologist. I am a mother of eight children and grandmother to twenty-one grandchildren. For the last 12 years I have been an ESL teacher in a high school, where I have had the opportunity to teach English to young people from all over the world. I am now retired and we have moved to be nearer to most of our children and grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church and my ancestors were some of the earliest members when the church was restored. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for all of my life has been a great blessing. The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ has given me a direction for my life, and has given me a knowledge of my purpose here on earth. I am grateful for the hope, joy and peace that the knowledge of the atonement of Jesus Christ brings to me.

How I live my faith

I have participated in large wards, small branches and there was a time when my family had a dependent branch in our home. I have had many calling in the church throughout my life. My most recent callings included Stake Relief Society President, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, and Relief Society Teacher. I taught early morning seminary to the youth for 13 years and Institute at an university for 5 years. At present my husband and I have been called to serve a mission in Stockholm, Sweden. It has always been my desire to serve the Lord in anyway that I could.
