Hi I'm Matt

I'm from Utah. I work hard, am a cancer survivor and like trains. I'm a mormon.

About Me

When I was two years old I was diagnosed with Leukemia. I went through three years of chemotherapy, then relapsed six months later. I went through more intense chemotherapy and became cancer-free just before my eighth birthday. It was a trail to push though these years of needles, doctors, illness and despair. I believe it was an even harder trail for young parents to see their boy fight this. Yes this trial allowed for so much growth! It allowed me at a young age to learn what it means to rely on the Atonement of Christ. I have been called to serve a mission in Halifax, Canada. I am looking forward to inviting people to come unto Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Christ. I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Church that Jesus Christ himself has placed upon this earth. Living the teachings of the Gospel is what allows me to discover who I truly am as a child of God. My favorite parable the Christ taught is that of the lost sheep. Luke 15:3-7. As a mortal I am prone to do things that distance myself from God and become like a lost sheep. But Jesus Christ is the Good Shephard who is always searching with His arms open. When I apply the Atonement of Jesus Christ in my life through faith and repentance, I feel found again. I know that through Jesus Christ, I am able to find my way home.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a disciple of Christ. Whenever I have a prompting or thought to do good, I do it. I pour my heart out to God in prayer and study what God says in the scriptures.
