Hi I'm Lauryn

I grew up in Idaho. I attend BYU-Hawaii. I have been called to serve in the California, Ventura Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently working towards receiving my Associates of Sciences before I leave on my mission this June. I grew up in Idaho and love to be outdoors. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing sports, working with animals, and interacting with and learning about different cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were both members of the church, although my mother's side of the family is less active. I grew up attending church each week and was baptized at the age of eight. From a young age, I found joy in the youth activities that the church provided and the compassion and examples of the member in my ward. As I got older, I began to recognize what a strength the church was in my life as I went through high school. I have many friends that are not members of the LDS church and I love them very much. However, it was very difficult for me to watch them struggle with the trials they faced in life, such as the death of loved ones, without the knowledge of the true gospel. I have seen members of my family become less active and fall away from the church, but I have also seen members return. I cannot express the joy I have felt witnessing a loved one's return to the gospel. I have seen what a life without the gospel and the support of the church brings, and I do not want that for myself or my future family. Perhaps the knowledge I am grateful for most is that of eternal families and our potential to live with our heavenly parents once again. I have a testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ and I know that He died for me and for all of us. As I come closer to Him, I have gained a better understanding of His love for us, His brothers and sisters. I know that we have a loving Father in Heaven who wants more than anything to see us return to live with Him. I know that this is the restored church here upon the Earth and that through Joseph Smith, Christ has brought back His gospel and Priesthood power never to be taken away from the Earth again. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and know it is truly of God. No man could have written the words inside except by the Spirit of the Lord. I love this gospel and I love my Heavenly Father and am so thankful to be on the Earth in these days when we have this amazing gift, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving with the women in my young single adult ward on the campus of my college. I enjoy spending time with my sister including visiting teaching and ward activities. The church college I attend provides an environment where I can share my experiences and testimony with those around me. I love to attend the temple and go each week to help with the services therein. I love my community and all of the different cultures that I get to interact with and share gospel experiences with.
