Hi I'm Brinley

I grew up in a small town in Utah. I am the oldest of my siblings. I am serving a religious mission in Portugal. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old. I grew up in the Church and have always loved it. I haven't always understood some aspects of it, however I don't let what I don't know determine what I believe. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is indeed the Church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and I know that He lives and when upon the earth, He performed miracles beyond belief. I know that this gospel is true, I have studied it and I know that the things I have said thus far are true. I live it, and I love it. And never will I ever be able to deny it.

Why I am a Mormon

I suppose I started out the same way any child does, I went to the same church and attended the same meetings my parents did. That just happened to be the LDS Church or "Mormons". I remember as a young child that there was a class all the other kids would go to, and we would play games and sing songs. One song that has stuck with me for always was the song "I hope they call me on a mission." and ever since I learned that song I knew that I wanted to be a missionary. Recently I received my Mission Call to Portugal, and was told that I would need to learn another language in order to teach others. One thing that Missionaries are asked to do after they've received their call is to re-read or read completely the Book of Mormon. Having read it before, I was not content just reading it, instead I decided to truly study and really think about whether the book was true. As I read, I've realized that through God, and His son Jesus Christ, EVERYONE, not just the righteous, not just Christians, EVERYONE deserves a second, third, twenty-third chance. God loves you, God knows who you are and what you are going through. He hears your prayers and cries for help. He is the Father, and just like your father He wants the best for you, He wants you to be what He knows you can be. I know that the answers don't always come the way we want them to, but answers always come. I know that the Book of Mormon is more than just a book, it is Gods' Words to us. I know He lives and loves each and every single one of us, most importantly, I know that through His teachings, I will be able to see my deceased grandmother again someday. I know that this church has a message for the world, and that message is one of hope, kindness and service. And I hope that now, you might believe it too.

How I live my faith

I read from the Book of Mormon and Bible and find ways to apply their teachings to my own life. I live, learn and search for ways to be a better person and for ways to be a better Christian. I am a Christian, and a person and all I want is the ability to become better and to live my life better.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Brinley
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It, like the Bible, testifies of the Son of God. It also is a support for the Bible, as the teachings you find in the Bible can also be found in the Book of Mormon because they are both Divine writings. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of Prophets who in ancient times testified that Christ would come, that He did come and that He will come again. It is called the Book of Mormon because Mormon, one of the last prophets to write in the Book, took all of it's teachings and placed them in order as God commanded Him. Thus creating one Book rather than many. The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ and teaches of Him, and If you want to know more about it I would invite you to read it, sincerely pray to God and ask if it is true, and I know that the by the Holy Ghost you will find that it is indeed true.
