Hi I'm Jacob

I grew up in Arizona. I'm attending school. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old. I've traveled to all 50 states in America. I am a senior in high school. I have been called to serve a mission to Tokyo Japan, and I report in June 2016. I hope to become a police officer after my mission, and to attend college at the same time. I have a strong testimony of this church, and I love my savior. I've had a lawn mowing business, I've been a lifeguard, and a fast food employee. I enjoy sports and have played on a few varsity teams at my school. My favorite is basketball, followed by racquetball. My favorite book series is either The Red Pyramid, or the Eragon series. Glasses are better than contacts in my opinion. I have received 1st place in a triathlon for my age group (16-19). I love ballroom dancing, and I am in the top ballroom class at my school. I have been in a few plays as an actor, and a stage hand. I enjoy singing, but as far as I'm aware, I'm not very good. I can play hymns on the piano, and I've had 3 years of trumpet lessons. I find astronomy to be fascinating. I have one full sister, a half brother and half sister, and a step sister and two step brothers. I'd rather be hot than cold.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church because it only preaches truth. It's principles are sound and they may seem strict at times, but in the end they only protect you from harm. It also isn't corrupt. Callings in the church are done as a service, and are not paid for. This makes it so those running the church are not there for power, but to help all those in need, and help us live better lives. Plus, it is the only church that has the priesthood of God upon the Earth. This priesthood is what gives this church the ability to receive revelation from God, and to run according to his desires. We also live in a world full of despair, and almost everybody is depressed for one reason or another. Because of this church, I have been able to refrain from depression, and I've been able to have hope in the darkest of times. Jesus Christ is the only way for us to have hope, and without him, we will be lost in despair.

How I live my faith

Currently I am the first assistant to the bishop, which means that I plan out activities and lessons for boys from 16-18 years old. I attend mutual every Wednesday and participate in whatever service projects or activities that are taking place. I have been called to serve a mission in June 2016. I will be going to Japan for 2 years to preach the truth of this gospel. I keep my vocabulary clean and respectful at all times, and I do not drink or do drugs. I strive to love everyone regardless of what they do to hurt me. Because if I can love my worst enemy, I will be a happy no matter what happens to me.
