Hi I'm Camilla

I'm 1 of 7 children, I grew up in England. I love to sing and read books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in a big Mormon family, having lots of siblings is fun but challenging at times. I love reading books and very often will be found with a good novel. I enjoy singing and I attempt to play the guitar, my sister and I enjoy singing together. I will be serving a full-time mission from May 2016. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and going out for meals, it allows me to have time to get to know them better. Singing along in the car to the radio provides me with some of the happiest memories. I enjoy photography and would like to develop my skills in photography, I love sunsets and scenery. I also enjoy writing, poems or song lyrics; however they need a lot of work. My mother and grandmother have taught me to have a love of knitting and sewing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that it brings joy and peace. The commandments (rules) that are given are from God and they are there to protect us; physically, spiritually and emotionally. I believe that families are for eternity and the gospel is the only way in which we will be able to have an eternal family. The church teaches that God truly does care about us, not just in the past but now. I know this because he speak to us and counsels us through his prophets. Amos 3:7 is one of my favourite scriptures, it reads "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." This scripture provides me with the faith to support our living day prophets, and it also helps me to know that God has not abandoned us at this difficult time, in these days where it is hard to live in this world. I am a Mormon because I love the Book of Mormon and I love the teachings in it, I know that it testifies of Jesus Christ. It compliments the Bible and it is another record of people who lived before.

How I live my faith

I am a ward music director, this consists of assigning a pianist and chorister for church meetings. At about the age of 14 I learnt to conduct a congregation, I have been blessed to grow in confidence and competence as I have carried out this calling. I have a deeper love of music and the hymns that are sung in church meetings. I live my faith daily by speaking about it with my friends and colleagues. I love increasing people's knowledge about the church and what a Mormon is, teaching them how the way we speak and dress sets us apart from the rest of the world. I also enjoy sharing my love of the Saviour and am always happy to answer the questions that my peers and associates have.
