Hi I'm Chace LaFrance

I grew up in Georgia, Texas, and Kansas and I'm a Mormon. I'm currently serving in the Koreas Seoul South Mission.

About Me

I'm the only son of my parents, and I have three sisters who I love with all my heart, despite the occasional butting of heads. I love learning, almost regardless of what the topic may be. My personal favorite field is science, but I love to learn about anything from culture and language to the structure of a tree. It has changed my view of the world and people, allowing for there to never be a dull moment wherever I may be. Along with learning, I love to camp, hike, swim, play cello, and generally just spend time with my friends and family! My family is one of the most important things in the world to me, right there along with the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, and grew up learning its teachings, but that led me to take it for granted. When I was about thirteen or fourteen I came to the realization that I needed to know for myself if the Gospel was true. So I did as I was always told and prayed about it expecting to receive an immediate answer, but I didn't, at least not that I knew of then. Instead of giving up though, I grew persistent. I decided to take on the challenge found in John 7:17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." From that moment on I tried my best to live in accordance to the Gospel. I would consistently fall short due to the fact that I'm human and make mistakes, but each time I was given the opportunity to repent and come closer to Christ. It was a very gradual path and I hardly feel as if I've grown in these five short years, but looking back at the distance I have traveled has given me a bit of perspective. I feel so much more peace and love in my life than I ever have. Anytime I try my best to as Christ would do I feel blessed. I have felt the Lord's hand in my life, guiding me, encouraging me, and pushing me along. And that is why I am a Mormon. My God has given me so much, and being a Mormon gives me the peace and assurance that is needed in such a chaotic world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending weekly Church meetings, but even more than that, I live it by trying my best to live what I learn outside of Church too. I love serving others and helping however I can, whether it be volunteering in hospitals or merely sitting down to listen to a friend. I've found that as I have lived my faith it hasn't so much as overshadowed other aspects of my life, but rather it has improved my life and made it more meaningful to me and others. Far more meaningful than if I was trying to do it all alone. Perhaps the biggest way I live my faith up to this point is through serving a two-year mission for the Lord in the Korea Seoul South Mission!
