Hi I'm Darrin Hansen

I am an avid concert goer. I am a missionary in Southern California. I have a beard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in a small town of North Carolina and enjoy spending my time playing guitar and enjoying the nature found here in this beautiful state. I attend college to study computer engineering engineering. I hope to one day work as a computer engineer or be on a design team programming audio software, amps, and guitars. I play guitar and to the surprise of many, I listen to a mix of punk/metal, and would like to play in a band. The message and lyrics are all clean and I am able to listen to music I feel won't distract me from the spirit. I am currently serving a full time mission in Bakersfield, California speaking Spanish. My love for the gospel and desire to share what I have been given drive me everyday to be more like my Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons as to why I am a Mormon and continue to follow the faith but I think that it all boils down to one central concept. The fruits of the gospel (the results of living righteously according to scriptural canon) bring one person's soul only joy and happiness. I have seen what the gospel does in my life to lessen my anxiety and to help me be brave and courageous enough to accomplish my goals in life. The deeper and deeper I dig into the church the more and more it makes sense and the more I feel at peace. I love the fact that the church does not look down at all on other religions and denominations and allows everyone to worship how and where they may. This helps me to explain my understanding of the gospel by describing the overwhelming peace and joy I feel from being a part of this church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by regular church attendance and always searching for ways to live the gospel in my daily life. I teach the primary aged kids (3-12) and am thoroughly enjoying it. I love seeing how much they enjoy learning about the restored gospel on the earth and the knowledge that they are able to provide. I try to go out with the missionaries at least once a week to teach the gospel and help others come unto Christ. I have submitted my papers and I have been called to serve in the Bakersfield, CA mission speaking Spanish. I am extremely excited to help the people of the area and be a servant of the savior.
