Hi I'm Cannon

I grew up in Idaho. I love the outdoors, guitars, and my family. I'm serving in the Spain Barcelona Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a senior in high school, planning to attend Brigham Young University after completing a 2 year mission in Spain. I grew up in Idaho and learned to love the outdoors including hiking, fishing, hunting, climbing and just about everything else. I started playing guitar when I was 12 and developed a lifelong passion for music and singing. I also love all sports. I played football throughout high school as a linebacker, I recently lost a tooth playing basketball, and I've always dreamed of playing rugby. I love all 6 of my siblings and count the days until our next reunion.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in His church, I learned to love the principles and doctrines I was taught. I said my prayers, read my scriptures and went to church, though not without occasional whining and rebellion. It wasn't until I was 12 or 13 when I was invited to attend an Aaronic Priesthood Encampment that I began to realize what I had been taught. One brisk morning on the third day of the encampment, we hiked to the top of a large mountain. We arrived just in time to sit on a natural amphitheater of rocks and logs and watch the sun rise brilliantly over the adjacent mountain. We sat in silence, enjoying the beauty of God's creation. Soon, our leader invited us to find a secluded spot in the woods and test out Moroni's promise found in Moroni 10:4-5 in the Book of Mormon. As I knelt down in my little grove of enormous pine trees, I began to feel a tingling inside. I opened my heart to my Father in Heaven and waited for an answer. Gradually, the tingling washed over my whole body and I felt the Holy Ghost like I never had before, bearing witness that this is His gospel. Since then, I have had many spiritual experiences adding to my testimony of Christ and His restored church. There are many reasons why I am so eager to serve a mission in Spain, but the biggest one is my Savior. His sacrifice for me is something I don't feel I can ever repay. The joy that the knowledge of His gospel and the Plan of Salvation brings to me everyday is something I want so badly for others to feel. That's why I am willfully sacrificing 2 years of my life to teach people about it.

How I live my faith

I received my Eagle Scout Award at the age of 13 and enjoy the many service projects we get to participate in. I have also served in many callings including Stake Family History Consultant. Most recently I was called to serve a 2 year mission to Spain, a calling that I am particularly excited for.
