Hi I'm Sammi

I've grown up in the Bountiful, Utah area. I'm a developing musician and future music educator and missionary. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student but will soon become a full-time missionary. I want to become a music teacher someday. I've always been involved with music and with the gospel. I think the gospel provides a healing and peace for the soul, not to mention, purpose. I think music is the best way to explain myself fully. Without either of these things in my life, my life would not be anything close to as whole as it is or it wouldn't exist at all. They've both become integral parts of who I've become and who I will yet be.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. My father was a convert and my mom was raised in the church. They were married and sealed in the temple. Even though my parents raised me and my siblings in the church, we were not expected to blindly follow what they believed, rather, we were taught to figure the truth out for ourselves. So that's what I did, I've prayed and questioned and studied and asked God if this gospel was true. I have received the answer that it is. In the best and worst of times I have found this gospel and its doctrine to be the one steady rock and constant. During times of greatest joy and deepest depression and a lost will to live, I have had the support I've needed to make it through, because of my relationship with God and my Savior. A relationship only possible because of what this gospel has taught me. I have a testimony that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, that we are lead by true apostles and prophets who have been called of God, that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is everlasting and ever reaching to all of mankind, who have been, are and will be. I have a testimony that all have a place and purpose in this world and that God is merciful and loving enough to provide us will a plan. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore his church to the earth and that through the power of God the Book of Mormon was translated for all to have access to read it's teachings. I know without doubt that hearts can be healed, bridges rebuilt, and souls mended through the power of the Atonement, no matter the damage and no matter how hopeless or far gone one feels. There is always a hope through Jesus Christ and this is his gospel. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm currently in a young single adults ward at my college. All the young and single adults in that specific area meet together every Sunday and function as any other ward. I am the pianist for the third hour meeting which we call Relief society. I strive my best to attend all meetings and activities and support my local leaders however I can. I pay a full-tithing and am preparing to serve a full-time mission, where I will teach those who do not know about the gospel, or who are curious about it, what we believe and how we live.
