Hi I'm Stone Godi

I'm a Mormon and my name is Stone Godi. I am a student at BYU, but will be going on a mission soon to Guatemala.

About Me

I am currently enrolled at BYU and I love to play sports. I am looking to apply to the business program. I have received my mission call to go to the Quetzaltenango Guatemala mission. I am extremely excited for this great opportunity to serve the Lord. I am the oldest of three and have two brothers. I have been raised in the church and am very grateful for that opportunity. I love to play baseball, football, and basketball. I also enjoy watching and following all of those sports. My favorite teams are the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. My favorite players are Bryce Harper, Andrew Luck, and Lebron James.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon originally because my family is Mormon. As I grew up near the choice and started to make choices for myself I realized the great peace and love that just came from being around other Mormons so often. Then I started to dive more into the doctrine and actual religion part of it. This part allowed me to realize the feeling of the spirit and helped me care about myself and others on this earth. It helped me realize the purpose of being on this earth hand great things that we can all have through the Atonement and love of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in a calling in my YSA ward as Ward Mission Leader. Due to the large percentage of members of the church at BYU our ward is more focused on how to reach out to old friends from high school who have gone their separate ways and help them just be exposed a little bit more to the Gospel. I currently am also a home teacher and love doing that job and attend Priesthood Executive Council meetings every Sunday before church. These meetings allow the leaders of the respective groups in the ward to be able to meet and discuss the best possible outcomes for the ward and how to help those who need it. I received my mission call however so I will soon be leaving for Guatemala.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Stone Godi
Atonement of Jesus Christ is something that is indescribable. Heavenly Father sent his son Jesus Christ to suffer for every single sin, pain, hardship, struggle, etc. By doing this and dying on the cross he has given us a pathway back to our Heavenly Father so that we can live with him again. It allows all individuals who have committed sins to be able to overcome those and be truly forgiven. The atonement is not something that turns off and on and is only applicable if you have certain qualifications. It is available for everyone. Show more Show less
