Hi I'm Ashlyn

I am a student, athlete, and artist. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the middle of five girls with two loving parents. I have spent most of my life in Las Vegas and went to college for a year at BYU. I love sports and any kind of outdoor activity that involves hanging out with friends and family. I also enjoy drawing, reading, music, and singing. I am currently serving a mission in Washington DC South and I love it!!! I am so excited to teach the gospel to the wonderful families here for the next 18 months!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is a lifestyle that helps improve your relationship with not only the people around you, but with God and Jesus Christ. My choice to be a member has given me direction in my life and has given me a happiness that nothing else can. The teachings of the prophets, past and present, have helped protect me and guide me in difficult times in my life. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important thing that anyone can have on this earth. Through prayer and scripture study I have come to know that the church is true, the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that the gospel was restored by the prophet Joseph Smith. This knowledge has brought me closer to my Savior Jesus Christ and that has brought me more peace and happiness than anything else in this life could. I am so thankful and proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Our gospel is centered around the Savior Jesus Christ and we constantly strive to become like Him. I try to follow His example in my everyday actions towards others by being friendly and kind to those around me, studying the scriptures, serving others, and helping those in need. I try to see others the way that God sees them, as His children and my brothers and sisters. I have had many opportunities to serve in the church. I am currently in a compassionate service committee that helps women that are struggling and I am also a visiting teacher, which means that I visit a couple women in the ward and help them with anything that they are in need of and then leave them with a short lesson of a gospel principle.
