Hi I'm Elder Devon C Ward

I grew up in Stamford CT. I'm currently serving a full time mission in Trujillo Peru. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I ran Cross Country and Track all 4 years in High School. I enjoy Camping, running, and rock climbing. I've differed college for 2 years to serve a full time mission to Peru for The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints ( Mormons ). After my mission I will be attending college where I plan to major in electrical engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy it has brought to my life. I have been a member my entire life, but even when I was younger I enjoyed going to church. At first it was just because that was where all my friends were. As I got older, when I turned 12, I decided I really wanted to have a personal witness of the truthfulness of this gospel. I knew it was true, because I heard people saying it to me my entire life. But I wanted a personal witness for me, so I could KNOW myself. I read the Book of Mormon within the span of about 10 months, and then got down on my knees and asked God if it was true. It was then, as a 12 year old boy that I received my own personal witness from God that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was a Prophet, and this Gospel WAS restored on this Earth today. I am a Mormon because I received my own witness, and have felt God's love for me hundreds of times after this experience. I know God lives, and loves me.

How I live my faith

As a full time missionary, I live my faith all day, every day. My day is filled with service to the community and to Christ from 6:00 in the morning to 9:30 at night. We wake up, exercise, study, and then go about through various methods spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and the joy this gospel brings to people around us.
