Hi I'm Erin

I'm a chemistry student. I love movies and books and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently finishing up my freshman year of college, studying chemistry. One day I'd love to work for a space agency or go into space myself to see more of Heavenly Father's creations beyond this beautiful earth we call home. I will be putting my education on hold off for a year and a half, however, to serve a mission and spread the word of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Until I leave, you can find me trying to make it through finals week and rereading or rewatching my favorite books and movie series.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be raised in the church, and have been able to experience the blessings of the restored gospel in every stage of my life so far. As I've grown up in the church, I've come to know from my teachers, classes, and personal scripture study and revelation that Heavenly Father knows me individually, and loves me and all the rest of His children unconditionally. This knowledge is such a blessing in my life, and helps me love my fellow man as Christ and my Heavenly Father would.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I rotate with several other teachers to teach lessons each week to the women. We discuss specific topics, lessons from the manuals, and even reflect on talks from the last sessions of the broadcasted semiannual General Conference. Being in college also gives me unique opportunities, as many of the women in my building are also in my ward. So we get to learn from each other and build each other up everyday.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

The scriptures hold all the answers you are seeking, but sometimes not in the actual verses themselves. When we read the scriptures, we draw nearer to Christ and Heavenly Father, which makes us more in tune with his Spirit, allowing us to receive personal revelation. The revelation we are given can guide us to the decisions we need to make in order to become like Him. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

While the Bible is the word of God, after many years of translations and different preaching styles, some plain and precious truths of the Gospel were taken from the Bible. These truths are present in the Book of Mormon however, the word of God is found word for word in its pages. The restoration paved the way for the complete gospel to return to the earth, after it had fallen away in apostasy following Jesus Christ's return to Heaven. We are lucky enough to live in a time where the restored Gospel can guide us in all we do. Show more Show less
