Hi I'm Christie

I was born and raised in Australia, and moved to America at age 14. I have three children and five grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a single of mom of two living children. My 2nd child, a son, died when he was twelve. I have five beautiful granddaughters that I love dearly. I love to read, be with my granddaughters, and help my daughter remodel or redecorate our home, especially if we get to use power tools! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who were converted to the gospel when I was a baby. When I was in my late teenage years, I became inactive, while I tried to figure out my life. I was inactive for a few years, but as I was in my early twenties, I felt a great desire to do and be something different than what I was. I was not happy, and felt that my group of friends would not be supportive of the changes I wanted to make. I made my way back to full activity in the church, and found great comfort in the doctrines and principles. It took time and repentance and effort, but I have never regretted coming back and enjoying the blessings afforded me. I was able to be married for time and all eternity, and I know that my three children are sealed to me for the eternities. I now have five beautiful granddaughters, and I want them to desire to know these truths, so that they can also have eternal families with their future husbands and children. Each day I am grateful for the opportunities and knowledge that I have, and I strive to do better each day.

How I live my faith

I have served in our children's organization (Primary), our youth organization (Young Women) and in our woman's organization (Relief Society) in all different capacities and in our Sunday School program. I love teaching the gospel to our youth and sisters, and being with the children and youth.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Because of the Atonement of Christ, I know that I'm able to do my very best, and that the Lord will pick up the difference for me. I can't just do the bare minimum required - I have to do the best I can all the time. And I need to use repentance frequently, and also have faith and hope and charity. I need to serve my family and others as they have needs and I have the ability, and I need to make right choices in all areas of my life. But I know that even then, I can't do it all. And that's where the Savior's precious gift of the Atonement comes in. I'm so grateful for this blessing in my life, and pray daily for the strength and ability to make these correct choices in my life, so that I can one day live with Him again. Show more Show less
