Hi I'm Austin Peterson

I'm currently serving a mission in the Central Eurasian Mission Turkey Region

About Me

Hey! I'm Austin, I come from a large family of 9! I'm 18 years old and am serving a mission in the Central Eurasia Mission, Turkey Region as of May 11th 2016! I've been on all sorts of adventures so far in my life, some of the biggest highlights being living on an island in Alaska called Dutch Harbor over the summer when I was 16 and I started a painting business with my twin brother, I've traveled to 28 of the 50 states, and I started college when I was 16! My main hobbies are playing Rugby and Weightlifting, but throughout my life I've participated in nearly every competitive sport, and loved them all. I'm also currently enrolled in Brigham Young University- Idaho and will be continuing my education there after my mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, my whole life I've been taught what Mormons believe and why, I've grown up being expected to follow certain guidelines set by my parents, who set those guidelines by following the teachings of prophets and apostles of the church. Because through the guidelines that they set for me, i would hopefully turn out okay and end up gaining my own testimony and a great understanding of why those guidelines are important for me to follow on my own when my parents weren't watching me. And no matter how much I resisted, it eventually worked. I can testify with absolute certainty, that this is the true church. I know why we are here on this earth, and its to grow, and learn, and return righteously to live with our father in heaven again. I understand how important it is to follow the commandments, because they are there for our protection, so that we can succeed in this life, succeed in the aspect of living righteously and enduring to the end. Because there will come a day for each and every one of us, that we are face to face with God. When that day comes, will you be able to answer truly that you were righteous? That you have truly repented for your sins and done your absolute best to have a pure heart? Alma 34:34 "Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God..." That is why I am a Mormon, because I have prayed and received a testimony that the teachings of this church are true, and I have received a testimony of God's eternal plan, and I know that the ONLY way to return to live with him, is to believe in and live the teachings of this Gospel. I can also testify that it is the only way to truly be happy in this life, and that this Gospel truly is for everyone, and that through humility, and fervent prayer and scripture study, you to can know the truth of these things and truly be happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. I approach each day with the attitude of somehow, in some way, bringing others closer to Christ. There is nothing that brings me more joy than sharing the Gospel, and I seek everyday to do so and to help others feel the love of their Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ.
