Hi I'm Sarah Shaw

I am a wife. I am a working mother of 4, I love to play Beatles Rock band with my kids. I love having fun. I am Mormon.

About Me

I am from Grande Prairie, Canada. I have a rad husband, and I'm a mom to 4 great kids.I have recently gone back to work as an Educational Assistant to support my husband as he finishes university. I love music, and singing. As a family we love to snowboard, and Ice fish in the winter, and camp and fish in the summer. In 2010, we purchased an old home and we (okay mostly my husband) gutted the inside and made it our own. I love to think up creative projects and DIY furniture for my husband to build. We make a great team! at least that's my end of the story. I have grown to Love Northren Alberta, with its beautiful summer sunsets at 11pm.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I have ancestors with who date back to Josph Smith's time. Their stories of hardship, and miracles are a legacy to me of the faith, hard work and sacrifice that will always stick with me. I hope to honor their stories with my legacy. I am Mormon, also because I know the Book of Mormon is true. There is a power behind that book. I grow and learn every time I read it. I love how even though I am not perfect, I still belong.I am still worth of love and I can always, always try again. I love the peace the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings, and the knowledge it gives me to questions of importance or eternal significance. It just makes sense.

How I live my faith

I feel it important to be an example of Christ no matter where I am. Whether it's in my home, at work in the school, or in the community, I strive to be an honest person full of integrity and charity. I hope others see my testimony of Christ. I serve in the youth at church as an advisor. I am grateful for the oppourtunity teach and prepare and study during the week. I learn so much from that study, and from the young women. I am the busyest I think, then I have ever been before. I need to attend church weekly. I need the reminders and the renewal of spirit and conviction church provides. It helps me get through to the next week.

What is the Relief Society?

Sarah Shaw
Relief Society is an organization for women established in 1842. It is Divinely inspired. It is for all women 18 years and older. It is a unique as it is founded on charity, and promotes taking action to help others and serve not only in our family and church, but also our community. The Relief Society is for all women in all circumstances of life, single, married, retired, students. There is no other womens organization like it. I love attending and being part of Relief Society, because we take care of each other, and I feel lifted up in my resposibities as a mother, wife and community and church member. Show more Show less
