Hi I'm Danica Butt

I grew up in Layton, Utah. I am called to serve in Helsinki Finland teaching the gospel in Finnish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently in the middle of my freshman year at Dixie State University. I enjoy warm weather and almost all outdoor activities. Living in St. George I hike all the time. Right now in this time of my life this is the first time I'm living on my own. It has been challenging yet rewarding to experience life on my own. This year I definitely have had to rely on my own faith instead of my supporting parents. I have grown and learned so much about myself this year through being away from home this school year. Also side note, I recently received my mission call to Helsinki Finland. I will be leaving July 20, 2016. I am super excited to teach and serve the people in Finland. When I first got my call I didn't even know Finnish was a language so it will be an adventure to learn and travel there.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church but that is not the reason why I am Mormon. The gospel is the main thing that brings joy, comfort and clarity to my life. All these questions that many people try to seek and ponder such as, " Why am I here?" or "What is my purpose in this life?" are clearly answered through the teachings of this church. It brings me such great comfort. Through living the gospel teachings I have found out personally that God loves me and I have formed a relationship with Him. Through prayer and scripture study I have found out for myself through personal searching that this gospel is 100% true. God listens to our prayers and wants us to be happy and this gospel makes me happy. I love this church and I follow and love our living prophet, Thomas s. Monson.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church each week. Being down here at college and experiencing young adult wards has been a wonderful opportunity. I live my faith by continuing to stay worthy to enter the temple. When my bishop asks me to do a calling or a talk I strive to do my best with what he asks. I am going to serve a mission in Finland near the end of the summer. I also strive to be kind and genuine to all so I can represent the church in a positive way.
