Hi I'm Erica Greer

I live in Virginia, come from a family of 7, attended BYU-Hawaii and am currently a missionary! And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm an EXS major at BYU-Hawaii, minoring in special education, hoping to one day become and Occupational Therapist and work with kids with disabilities. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and love them dearly. I love outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family. I play a little guitar and also a little bit of piano. I absolutely love listening to church hymns whenever I get the chance, because of the spirit that comes from it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the truth I have discovered in this gospel. Nothing can compare to the feelings and blessings I've received from this gospel. I know for myself it has been the light of Christ and the power of the Holy Ghost that has directed me down the path to attend a church school here in BYU-Hawaii, and also to serve a mission. Satan has always been a temptation, and I've experienced some difficult trials with him in my life, but I can promise you if you focus on the voice of the Holy Ghost you can focus on Christ and his plan to cleanse us from our sins and return us to our Father in heaven. Anything in life worth having is worth working for. In this gospel you will learn for yourself the truth of it, but you will have to discover for yourself the power of the atonement, and other aspects of this church. But I can assure you from every fiber within me, being able to learn and bear witness of the church is such a powerful tool in both your life and in others. I hope overtime I will be able to grow my testimony and deepen my understanding of the true church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I've been raised in the church and discovered the only way to develop your testimony is on your own. You can learn all aspects of this gospel, but until you apply it to yourself and learn and experience them for yourself, your testimony will not grow. To me I have learned this is vital! I have received callings in each presidency of young women's growing up, which has taught me to love everyone and be kind to others, and truly appreciate the value of Gods children. I have been so grateful for these opportunities!

What is faith?

Erica Greer
One of my favorite verses into scriptures is Alma 32:21. " And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true." To me faith is the foundation of my testimony, although I cannot see Christ or see the Holy Ghost, through faith I can hope and believe with all my might the truthfulness of these things. But faith goes father than belief, faith is to have trust in God, to have confidence in him to obey his commandments and live righteously. As the church states: "It is a principle of action and power". Faith is like a seed, if planted it will grow. But it is upon us to nourish it overtime and we will see the blessings in our lives, just as we would see fruit produced on the tree. Show more Show less
