Hi I'm Kimi

I am healthy, strong and active and love being in nature. I am a mother, a Nana and an accountant. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the church, baptized in 1982 at the age of 17. I have attended college twice - once upon graduating from high school, and again as a single mom with four small children. I went back to school to get a B.S. degree in Accounting so that I could provide for my family. I have always loved the outdoors, being active and connecting with nature. I am a runner, hiker, cycler, yogi, and Frisbee enthusiast! I have four adult children and a darling granddaughter. I am a novice gardener and have just discovered the thrill and adventure of family history. I speak very little Spanish, and would love to learn that language. I have re-married a super-handsome and wonderful guy! We love to car camp, go on long weekend adventures, and leather up and ride our Harley Davidson motorcycle! I am a very healthy eater, but have a serious weakness for donuts! I love sunshine and blue skies, dragonflies, the songs of birds and the energy of a beautiful sunrise or sunset. My life is full of optimism, joy and happiness!

Why I am a Mormon

I attended the Mormon church as a non-member when I was a young girl and teenager with friends who were members of the church. I was raised by a single mom with my two sisters. My exposure to my Mormon friends' lifestyles, including their home life, left me longing for those standards and values to be a part of my own life. I was particularly drawn to the Word of Wisdom, the Lord's law of health, and have been a faithful follower of that principle my entire life. I was also deeply drawn to the concept of a temple marriage and the ability we have to be sealed with our families forever. I believe Heavenly Father has blessed me with a receptive spirit, which has enabled me to easily learn of the Savior, believe in Him, desire to follow Him and recognize the blessings that have always been part of my life, even when life has been full of sorrow, challenges, and unexpected negative events. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of Jesus Christ as the son of God, and a deep and personal testimony of how his atonement not only promises life after death, but a good, peaceful, happy life while living! He is in our life every minute of every day to help us with the smallest need to delivering us from the deepest sorrow and pain.

How I live my faith

I strive to live each day of my life following the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. I pray each day to be aware of those around me and how I might be of service and to see needs that I can assist with. The opportunities that I find are usually small and simple acts of kindness - opening a door, taking a meal, giving a hug, sharing a smile, or silently praying for a stranger whose story I see on TV. I attend church services each week, read scriptures regularly and listen to and read words from leaders of the Mormon church whom I consider to be prophets and apostles of Jesus Christ. By consistently and regularly exposing myself to spiritual and uplifting activities and messages, I find that I have a positive spirit with me that helps me deal with challenges, overcome temptations, recognize things that aren't good for me and have an abundance of gratitude and appreciation for the many good things in my life. The beautiful spirit that accompanies faith in Jesus Christ is manifested, for me, in optimism and excitement for life and its challenges. Over the decades since becoming aware of my Savior and his role in my life, I have seen wonderful changes take place in so many aspects of my life. I live each day trying to do good and to be good to show my love and gratitude for the Savior believing in me and for suffering as he did for me.
