Hi I'm Rae
I love sports. I am a future missionary. I love making others smile and happy. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I love the outdoors. I love hiking and camping in the mountains. My favorite season is Summer because of the sun and warmth even during the night when I can go star gazing. I am a really social person and love out and hanging with all of them. However, I do like to mix it up a bunch. I like to have days inside in my bedroom reading a good book like Harry Potter, the Divergent series, The Book of Mormon, the Maximum Ride series too. I'm really into sports. I played soccer as a kid then wrestling, and now I play basketball and softball.
Why I am a Mormon
Well, I was born and raised in the church so getting baptised was really just another decision that was regular for my family. However, my conversion story still exists. I still continue to have them too. My first real conversion was when I was 7 about to turn 8. 8 is the age that we baptize in the LDS faith. I was really questioning whether or not this was something I believed or was I just going off of what my parents were telling me. I talked to my mom late one night and said, "Mom, I don't know if I believe God." And I was a little surprised at what she said. She told me she was proud of me for questioning. We all should question our faith at some point because if we "pray with a pure heart with real intent having faith in Christ he will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost." So that's what I did. I really wanted to know that this religion that I was about to be baptized into was the one that I really knew was true. I can't explain the feeling I got when I found out. I pleaded with Heavenly Father to help me know for MYSELF that this was the true church. I read my scriptures and did as Joseph Smith did. I felt the Spirit testify to me that what I was doing was true. I didn't hear a great big booming voice. I didn't have a heavenly being appear to me. I had a warm feeling inside. It gripped my heart like a giant hug. It was then I knew that I was making the right decision by being baptized into the LDS faith and becoming a member. It was then I knew that I was following Christ's path. I know this church is true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I know that Christ lives and He suffered for my pains, sorrows, and sins personally like He did for everyone else. I leave these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
How I live my faith
I am currently serving as branch missionary in my Young Single Adult branch as well as a Family Home Evening coordinator. I am always looking for ways to share the gospel with others, yet I try to use service as the best way to show Christ's love for others.
