Hi I'm Larean Borrowman

I have lived in West Jordan, Utah, USA most of my life. I am second youngest of 8 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. My parents moved to West Jordan when I was 1. Other than the 2 years I lived in St George to go to Dixie College, and the 18 months I lived in Australia to serve a mission in Brisbane, and the 1 year I lived in Salt Lake City, after Tom and I were married, I have always lived in West Jordan. I attended West Jordan elementary, West Jordan Jr. High, and Bingham High School. I loved school. After graduating I attended Dixie College and received an associate degree in physical science. My next adventure was to serve a mission in Brisbane Australia. I loved it, but then I love almost everything I do. I have worked off and on during our married life and before marriage, however what was always the most important was raising our six children to love each other, love the Lord and be productive members of society. I love to hike and have hiked the Grande Canyon rim to rim to rim with my brother and sister, and some of my children. I love being out in nature and enjoying what God has given us.. I can't remember a time when I didn't know the gospel of Jesus Christ was true. Tom and I have 6 children and 7 grandchildren, 6 girls 1 boy! I love being with the kids and grand-kids. We go 4-wheeling and camping a couple of times a year with the family. We love doing things together. Now that our children are grown and on their own, my husband and I are preparing to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? It Just make sense. If a loving God was going to organize a church it would be just like the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been a leader in the women's organization and also the children's organization, as well as helped with the youth. I have yet to see an organization like the Church that tries to care for all its members, from the youngest to the oldest. This is an organization that is prepared at a moments notice to send aid anywhere in the world there is a need, be it natural or man made. The Church teaches their people to be self reliant, to be prepared for disasters so they can care for them selves and help their neighbors. We are taught that everyone is important and that Heavenly Father loves all his children and we need to help those we come in contact with. The Church is an organization of volunteers. Everyone is given the opportunity to serve on the local level with out pay. It teaches that God comes first, family second, and everything else after. It teaches the important of a Mother and a Father in the life of their children; that the family unit, the most basic unit in society, can be an eternal unit that continues after this life and into eternity.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities in my life to serve in the Church. Serving is always a growing experience. I have served in the women's organization on a local level, as well as the youth and children's organization. Each time I work in a different organization I learn to love those I serve and those I serve with. I have learned how to be more organized, how to listen to the opinions of those with whom I serve, and that Heavenly Father loves all His children. It is truly a gospel of love.
