Hi I'm Monique

I am a Mormon. Know it. Live it. Love it.

About Me

Monique Sabrina Ostler. I am the youngest in a Family of six, and the only girl of four children. There is my mom and dad, then I have three older brothers. I graduated High School the spring of 2015, and attended a year of college at Weber State University. Now I am currently preparing to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I will report to the Columbia Missionary Training Center June 1st 2016. And serve in the Ecuador Quito North Mission! This is very exciting for me, because my mom was born and raised in Ecuador. And my parents met serving lds missions in Quito Ecuador! It truly is a Miracle that I will be sharing the Gospel with the people of Ecuador. I grew up always wanting to serve a Mission, and always wanting to be a Nurse which is what I am attending school for! I love Music. I enjoy learning how to play songs on the guitar, and writing my own music. I love to sing (as long as no one can hear me)! I have been in so many choirs because I have fun being a part of something. In High School I ran Track and Cross Country for the love of it. And I was in a Photography club. I love being in the outdoors doing nearly anything; hiking, fishing, hunting, four wheeling, shooting, blowing bubbles! Being out in Nature really helps me to be grateful for everything I am. I Love to spend time with my Family, we really laugh hard playing board games, and even video games. We love to travel, and eat food!! I am a Daughter of God. Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised by parents who are Latter Day Saints. I grew up going to Church every Sunday, having Family Home Evening, Reading the Scriptures, and Attending Church activities. I could say that it just grew to be a habit, but habits can be broken. I feel incomplete if I do not attend my Sunday Services. I do not go to church because it is a habit, or because it is what my parents want, I choose to continue and follow this Gospel because it is True. I know that I cannot get through this mortal life on my own, I need my Heavenly Father, and Savior Jesus Christ who Atoned for my Sins. I am a Mormon, I Know it, Live it, and Love it.

How I live my faith

I was part of my Cities Youth Community Council. I really enjoyed spending time with other Youth my age performing selfless acts of service for our community. And we were able to participate in the parades, that was a fun experience! I have had different callings in church, one was to attend meetings to try and help invite young women my age in the area to come to activities and church meetings. Also to help plan different activities for the Young Women's program. Another was a Ward Missionary. This calling helped me to grow spiritually, and I hope I was able to help others. Our main focus was on Spreading the gospel through social media by posting happy thoughts, or quotes, and sharing conference talks or church lessons. We also invited non-members in our ward boundaries to ward/stake activities, and church meetings. This was a great preparation for learning more about missionary service.
