Hi I'm Andrada

I grew up in Romania. I love reading, dancing and camping. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Romania a small town by the mountains. As children, we would always be playing in the park or wherever we could find a tree to climb, and that is where my love for nature started. I practiced modern dancing and aerobic gymnastics for years, before I moved to Canada at age sixteen. Leaving everything behind and starting a new life has been one of the hardest and the best experiences I've had. I feel enriched by having met many people of different cultural backgrounds and learning from their stories. I love trying new things, from different food to new adventures!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Christian Orthodox church, but my family rarely went to church. When my father passed away because of cancer, I started asking myself more deeper questions about God and the purpose of life. It was around then that I met the Mormon missionaries. I was only eighteen years old. While studying with them I received answers to many of my questions. The feelings of sorrow after the loss of my father were replaced by feelings of peace and hope knowing that I will be able to see him again. I learned that God is my Heavenly Father who loves me and knows me individually. I learned that no matter where I am in life, I can change for the better thanks to Jesus Christ. The missionaries invited me to find out the truth for myself by reading from the Bible and the Book of Mormon, as well as praying to know if their teachings were true. The feeling of peace I had while reading and praying about the Book of Mormon was testimony to me that what I was learning was true. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and it is the same Church that Jesus organized over 2000 years ago.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday and I always feel refreshed by being there. I have had a few different roles in my local congregation such as teaching music to the children, as well as teaching Sunday School classes to adults. I look for opportunities to volunteer in my community outside the church. I try to live my life each day by following Jesus Christ's teachings such as helping others. I recently decided to serve as a missionary and I am now preparing to leave to Portugal for the next 18 months. During that time I will be inviting people to follow Jesus Christ and have the same joy that I have found in my life.
