Hi I'm Megan

I grew up in beautiful Utah. I love my family, traveling, movies, stuffed animals, ice cream, and especially Jesus. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a poor, happy college student. I love making friends and often say hello to random people because I like watching their reactions. I've been called to preach the gospel in New York and will be there for the next 18 months to serve my God and the people there. I've done a lot of musical theater and choir in my life, and I think music is a wonderful and powerful form of expression.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into the LDS Church when I was just eight years old, and I have never regretted that decision even a little bit. Living and studying the gospel has given me comfort, hope, and peace when nothing else did. Even through the harder times of my life, I've never stopped believing. When I learn of my Heavenly Father and Beautiful Savior, my heart swells and I have joy. I can feel their love for me and want for nothing more than to be reunited with them at some future day. The scriptures have been a means of inspiration and spiritual protection for me over the years. I know they are important and powerful. I have observed how involved God is in my life, and I love Him. I believe all things testify of Him.

How I live my faith

I love attending church and related activities like devotionals and camps. I've had a few callings working with other young women and youth my age, planning fun activities and helping them strengthen their faith in Christ. Every month, I visit other young women and talk with them and share a gospel message. I'll soon be a full-time missionary for the Church in New York City.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Megan
No, we do not worship Joseph Smith. He was a wonderful man, humble and faithful, and he is a servant of God, but we worship Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ, not the prophet Joseph. We love him and are grateful to him for the sacrifices he made, including the sacrifice of his own life, so that we can have access to the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, but we do not worship him. What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Megan
Jesus Christ is our Savior. He is God's holy son who loves us enough that He willingly came to Earth and experienced every pain life has to offer, including death. Yet He conquered death and He lives again today at the right hand of God. He is the literal Son of God, and He literally saved mankind. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Megan
Mormon lifestyle is joyful. It's not about following "rules," as many believe. We keep the commandments God has given us in the scriptures, and that leads to our protection and happiness. Inspired Church leaders give us valuable guidance, and when we heed their words, we are better protected from evil and darkness. Mormons like to spend time with each other and help each other. It is a lifestyle of friendship. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Megan
We can learn about Heavenly Father and come to know and love Him better by studying the life of His Beloved Son Jesus Christ. The two of them are one in purpose, and Christ's purpose on Earth was to do the will of His Father and to bring mankind to a love and knowledge of Him. Therefore, when we study Christ's life and attributes, we learn more about the Father. We will also come to know Him better by praying with real intent, and actually talking with Him and striving to form a relationship with Him. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Megan
The scriptures tell us that no unclean thing can dwell with God. Cleanliness is related to godliness. When I am healthy and in a clean, comfortable environment, it's easier for me to feel the spirit and receive revelation. It has been revealed to us that substances like tobacco and drugs are harmful to our bodies, and therefore harmful to our relationship with God. Keeping our bodies clean and healthy helps keep our spirits clean and healthy as well. Show more Show less
