Hi I'm Jesse

Born and raised in the LDS faith, I come from Kirtland New Mexico in the 4 corners. Joined the Marines right after High School.

About Me

I've served in the Marine Corps Infantry since 2011 and will soon be leaving for a mission for the LDS church. I grew up in Kirtland NM, and currently live in Provo UT where I hope to one day go to school to become a Pilot and Religious Teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

Like most who were raised Mormon, I have had my fair share of trials which spun me into the Marine Corps at 18 and left me Inactive while searching for truth and solidarity in my life. In doing so I will never say that the spirit left me but instead was constantly working on me trying to bring me back, I just refused to acknowledge him or accept his pleas. through a series of miracles and Angels in the form of friends I was brought back to the church one Sunday morning where I was left to only my thoughts and the spirit talking to me. I had a knowledge but didn't know I knew until that day. as the months went by I'd made a covenant with myself that I would never miss church again if I didn't have to. the trials came and I stood strong with the strength of the Lord always with me. I was challenged to read the Book of Mormon for my first time a few months after my reactivation and then challenged to pray about it as well, as I did I realized I no longer just had a knowledge of this gospel but also a personal love for it as well. After some time I made the decision to serve a mission but was struck with adversity and the trial of patience. It took me 3+ years and many nights spent wondering what my future would look like but In February of 2016 I was given the approval to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints and in March of that year was Called to labor in the Oregon Eugene mission. I am a Mormon because I did many hard things and put my faith in the Lord, but most of all I have seen the atonement applied in my life and I have sincerely asked God for a witness of the Truthfulness of this Church and it's teachings and he did answer me clearly!

How I live my faith

I currently take care of the membership in my Young Single Adult ward and participate in the leadership council's that take place to ensure activities are happening and member activity is high. I also help focus on working with those who are struggling weather physically or spiritually and offer personal time to tend to others needs. I love studying with other people weather for their normal college classes or in the Gospel which I hope to teach through out my life.
