Hi I'm Geminiano Sarmiento III

I am from the great islands of Hawai'i. I am a student at Brigham Young University. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I am hoping to get into medical school and help others in the medical field. I like to listen to a wide range of music, but love to listen to classical music. In fact, I used to play the cello in my younger years. I also love the outdoors, but by no means fit for it.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember when I was young, my family and I would always pass by a beautiful building. I always wondered who's home was that on the hillside; I made it my goal that I would find out who's home was that and to have a home like that when I grow up. It was only when I finally went up to this great building when it was having a Open House that I found out who's home it was and what surprises where inside. It was the Lords House and in His House we perform sacred ceremonies where we may be sealed with our families, that the loved ones we know will be with us when we leave Earth and return to our Father in Heaven. In His House, families don't end here on Earth, but are forever and eternal in the life after. Even those that have passed away, they can be together forever in Heaven. I testify that the temple is the Lord's House, and the ceremonies performed are sacred and everlasting. Families can be together forever. From our children to our predecessors, those sacred ceremonies are promised from our loving Father in Heaven. We will know pure happiness and joy from the opportunity to be with our loved ones in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I help my ward by preparing the sacrament. Since sacrament is the most important part of our Sunday meetings, I bring bread to partake and prepare water to drink in remembrance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I also home teach others. By home teaching, I help me, my companion, and my "students" to continue to live their week righteously and strive to follow the Lord's commandments. The message I leave with them is to remember that our Heavenly Father is there for us and in our times in need he is there for us when we live righteously and when we remember the promises we made with Him.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Geminiano Sarmiento III
Families are what make us who we are. They the the most important part of our life here on Earth. From our predecessors till now, we have everything to thank for from those before us. We learn from them and strive to make our future, our children, lives better. When we realize that there is a loving Heavenly Father, we also realize how important it must be for us to emulate that same love. He has done so much for us. He gave His only Begotten Son to help us in our journey here on this Earth; Jesus Christ became our example and through His sacrifice, we may return to our Father in Heaven. He knew our struggles will be great, but He has not left us in the dark. In these trials we learn. In these struggles we remember Him. Show more Show less
