Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in Texas. I attended Brigham Young University-Idaho. I am a sister missionary in the Canada Vancouver Mission.

About Me

I was very involved in my school and church callings growing up. I did marching band, student council, math club, volunteer work, and was in the presidency for all my years in young womens. I just completed my first semester at Brigham Young University-Idaho, and I can't tell you enough how impacting it was on my life. The devotionals every Tuesday were so uplifting, and even growing up in the church you think you've learned it all. But everyday is a learning experience, so reading my scriptures everyday is a reminder of that. I leave May 11, 2016 to serve 18 months in the Canada Vancouver Mission. I wasn't always positive growing up that I was where I was supposed to be. Attending girls camp, reading my scriptures, and going to school helped me to find my way. My desire is to help build God's kingdom here on earth and help others grow closer to our Savior and receive the blessings of this gospel. I am grateful for all the blessings I have received in my life, including the trials that have helped me grow. I appreciate all that I've been given, very very much. I know I am very lucky compared to many around the world. So I simply want to share the gospel, so that others can be blessed as I have.

Why I am a Mormon

We all struggle through life, and although we don't have answers to everything, we should recognize the hand of God when we see it. As a teenager it was so easy to compare my life to someone else who seemed to have more, or better things. Now as a young adult I know how important it is to be grateful because these things could be taken away in a second. I choose to remain a member of this church because I have read the Book of Mormon more than a few times. Even if you've read the same scripture a hundred times, you can learn something new from it on the 101th time you've read it. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet. I know our Savior sacrificed his life because he loves us. I know that President Monson is a living prophet who receives revelation for this church, so that we continue to learn here on this earth. I know this church is true.

How I live my faith

I continually pray to my Heavenly Father and read my scriptures to express my outer commitments to God. I attend church every sunday and strive to live as Christ did every day. I desire to share this message of the gospel to others who seek truth and everlasting joy. I strive to be all that I can be and to help my fellow brothers and sisters come unto Christ.
