Hi I'm Terry

I grew up in Ireland, I was born in the church

About Me

I'm the youngest of 3 children, I like to watch movies, play games and listen to music

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, for a long time it was all I knew, we would to the youth activities and it was all normal, I never felt out of place, until I turned 14 and we started going to stake activities and regionals. I met people who I didn't know or fit in with, it became clear very quickly that I just didn't like being around so many people at one time, but it was a church activity and my friends were there. This made me uncomfortable as I was used to small groups with people I knew. When I was 15 I realised if couldn't fit in that I wouldn't stay in the gospel, that I was there but not for reason that the church was true, I decided that I needed to gain a testimony of my own or I needed to to stop putting myself in those situations where I didn't feel right. For about a week I took to reading my scriptures and saying my prayers and actively keeping the commandments that I learnt as a child. As I did this, things became easier for me, school wasn't so boring, going to these stake activities wasn't as bad as they used to be, I found making friends easier. So I continued to do them. At testimony meeting the week after the youth temple trip, we were asked to bear our testimonies and share anything we had learnt, when I got up I realised I had a testimony of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I attend my church meetings and I'm currently teaching the gospel principles class of my ward. This is where people who have just found out about the church come to learn the basic, most fundamental principles of the church. I attend YSA activities as often as I can and will begin serving a mission for the church on the 25 of May.
